Purpose
Friends of the Cuba Library, Inc. (Friends) incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit in October of 2016. As a non-profit, Friends is committed to promoting the mission of the Cuba Circulating Library (Library), to raising money to provide financial support for Library programs and services, to advocating for the library, and to recognizing service contributions of library staff and volunteers.
Friends actively support children’s programming, including regularly scheduled story hours and classes, special events and guests, and summer reading programs. Adult programming benefits from Friends’ funding with sponsorship of special programs, such as the Spring Tea, and guest presenters, such as local artists and authors.
MEETINGS AND MEMBERSHIP
Friends meet the first Wednesday of each month March through November at 6:30 p.m.
Our annual membership drive is from mid-February to mid-March. New members are welcome to join at any time. Members take on a variety of roles including serving as officers, helping with book sales, and preparing for other fundraisers and events.
